An overcharged system won't cool worth a damn and may blow your pressure relief valve But shouldnt that logic also mean the car shouldnt cool when its dark out/low ambient temps? No. Lower ambient temp increases the effectiveness of the condenser, so it makes sense that the system cools better at night
